About
I am graduate student at the University of Georgia in computer science. My background is in engineering, and I graduated in 2018 with a petroleum engineering degree from Louisiana State University. I hope to use what I learned in engineering and am currently learning in computer science to develop my skills as a data scientist and software engineer.

I am very passionate about working with data. I have seen first hand how much value can be generated from the analyzation and visual of data, and I want to be a part of that. My areas of interesting are in AI, machine learning, and deep learning. I hope that as I progress through my degree I can learn to harness the power of these techniques to generate value in the work force.
In my spare time I enjoy making music, traveling, learning new things especially languages, and playing soccer.

I once asked my father how I could be “successful.” He replied by saying, “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” I later found out that he borrowed this quote from Colin Powel, but I believe these words are extremely important to being successful in all aspects of life, and over the years, I have tried to live by this phrase.
Currently, I am putting this mantra to work by learning what I enjoyed most about my previous occupation and turning it into a career. While Schlumberger was a wonderful company and I really appreciated my time there, I realized that what I loved most was the software side of my job. I enjoyed the responsibilities of coding and programming to automate repetitive day-to-day tasks, troubleshooting the Schlumberger network and proprietary software, and managing our vast amount of job data with applications like SharePoint and Power BI. In fact, I enjoyed these assignments so much that I decided to pursue a full-time career in computer science.
Since leaving Schlumberger, I have earned a graduate certificate in computer science foundations from Kennesaw State University, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in computer science from the University of Georgia.
I would like to find an opportunity to put my diverse skills to use adding value for a respected company in a capacity related to data science and software development.
